Bio

Born in September 1987 in Lousã, a small town near Coimbra, I graduated from high school and joined the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI-FCTUC) in Coimbra as one of top students of the year in 2005/2006. My interest and Computers and Science came as natural thing to me and with 12/13 years old I was a monitor at the "Ciência Viva" project in Lousã, giving basic workshops with a couple of other people my age to Primary School students.

From Sep 08 to Sep 09 I worked part-time as a developer at Wit-Software (www.wit-software.com), contributing to some of their projects, while with my MSc on Software Engineering at the same time. There, I coded solutions to internal projects and developed improvements to others that were being used by clients. Most of these were web-based or to be used in mobile environment, areas that I am very interested in.

I was at Codebits 09 at Cordoaria, an awesome experience, where I learned a lot about a lot of things, some of which are still ringing on the back of my head. I also ate a lot of pizza, which I am blaming for the fat around my once tight six-pack. :)

Starting next September I will be an intern at Ubiwhere (www.ubiwhere.com), an Aveiro-based company that focuses on developing innovative solutions for ubiquitous and pervasive systems, where I will write my thesis on indoor positioning and identification technologies.

I am a keen enthusiast of technology (cof cof geek cof cof), I love animals (was involved in some early activities organized by Associação Pitbull Oeste - www.pitbulloeste.com), football, music, cinema, and enjoying the nightlife of Coimbra.
