Bio
I grew up with Legos as my ultimate preferred toy . I've stopped denying the influence they had on me a few years ago, and now I fully accept that there was no other career for me than that of a developer thanks to that fact :)
Technologies opened up, connectivity has become the trend and there's more and different Lego blocks to play with, and I'm happily trying to use as many blocks as possible :)
My professional career has started some years ago on a basement doing quality control , luckily I developed a few computer tools to help with that process and I moved on to become a Developer and System Administrator while keeping the same low salary :) . I then opened up a company, and with that I managed to keep the job while INCREASING the salary . That went on for a few years, while I was working on my government job I developed web projects (plenty of PHP, I'm sorry to say :) ) until I finally quit my job to work on my company .
At some point I got this work for CIARIS (http://www.ciaris.org) that lead me to Ruby on Rails and to build and part-own a social-collaborative platform than has grown and was named Shirikisha (http://network.shirikisha.com | http://www.shirikisha.com) . I've also made some quick passes at Java, Perl, and a not so brief more intensive Flex/Actionscript projects :)
I've now moved to a different approach to life and joined the Sapo crew, reason being, I love long-term projects and extensive reach, and there's no short of projects and wide scopes there. I'm a fan of well done, organized architectures, I'm rather in love with well done systems and with technology that actually comes out from the computer screen .
I still dream of robots and space and yes, I've done a Lego robot, and yes, it failed miserably (I blame power issues) :)
Hope to be at Codebits, and hope to meet like minded folk and watch interesting projects :)
