Introduction to Gearman - a distributed, language and OS independent system for dynamic programming
Gearman is a client/server framework that makes task development easier and better suited for the job. Interaction between several operating systems and programming languages is friendly and easy. There are interfaces for the major languages, plugins and standalone applications, which allow you to define tasks and request jobs in a distributed environment. This talk will introduce Gearman architecture and basic concepts, and show how to solve some interesting problems in a creative way.

Giuseppe Maxia is the MySQL Community Team Lead at Sun Microsystems. He's an active member of the MySQL community and a long timer open source enthusiast. During the past 22 years he has worked in various IT related fields, with focus on databases, object oriented programming and system administration.
