Hello,
I'm 18 years old and going to attend "Engenharia Informática e de Computadores" this year in the "Instituto Superior Técnico" in Lisbon.
My programming hobbies include a lot of working with the Web. Mainly it is webdesign (XHTML, javascript, php,...) but I am more focused in website engines (the inside).
These last months and years I have worked/learned:
* of eXtensible languages such as XML and XSLT, and how to use them with systems like php's SimpleXML and XSLTProcessor, or javascript's DOM
* dynamically creating images with ImageMagick
* making use of extended Regular Expressions
* working seamlessly with data UTF8 (xmls, and MySQL databases) and multi-lingual websites
* different types of databases (innoDB), proper locking and avoiding race conditions
* and some other minor things
Apart from programming I like to play guitar, bake cakes, play logic games and etc.
Currently I'm working on making a base structure for complex website like online browser games and systems that heavily use user-made content (social networks, picture sharing,...)
I participate in Programming contests and had luck on winning the national olympiads (ONI 2010) this year, and participated this year in london's international youth science forum (LIYSF 2010)
I got a working online browser game at http://www.iryswars.com
As a side-hobby, I love constructing GUIs for websites (like the way menus or content is interacted)
