Bio

Also know as Petrhos, I'm a finalist student of Information Systems Management at Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, during my studies I have made Erasmus experience at Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven, in Belgium, in the area of Applied Information Technology.
I also made Initial Teacher Training Course for Trainers.


< PROJECTS >>

During my youth geek years I created some projects. The oldest one it's Adamastor (adamastor.org), a Portuguese Project of Maintenance and Implementation of Free Software, which was founded 2001 and which aims at the dissemination and maintenance of free platforms.
From Adamastor nice projects have born, like the 3 years of "Linux Instalations Partys", the "PHP Directory Indexer" (analyzed in an article in Linux Magazine) and the outboxed "Movimento 560".

Apart from Adamastor I'm also a member of the team which makes happen the event of Lan Party Moita, event that accommodates more then 300 users and with five years of history (since 2005).
I also been on the organization of Lan Party Coimbra Digital in 2008.

In addition to these projects I am also administrator and the coordinator of Programas Livres (programaslivres.net), and promotor of Lisbon Social Media Café.


< ACTIVITIES >>

In my daily activities, I have been kinda of director and producer at the same time on the 1st Lisbon Microfilm Festival in 2007, with the shot movie "Cidade".

Partial translator of the program "Open CRX", from English into Portuguese in 2005.

Speaker at the conference "What is Free Software? the lecture series "Brave New World" promoted by the Association Rato and the City Council of Seixal, Seixal Cultural Forum in March 2005.

Speaker at the "Workshop on Linux and Free Software" in High School João de Barros, in Seixal in March 2005.

I was also moderator of no longer existing portal startux.org.


< PARTICIPATIONS >>

I participate in two Web aggregators, Planet Geek, and Planet Linux Brazil.

Apart from that I have made my participation Codebits, 2008, 2009, where we (team) presented the project 525, witch is now having some development that we hope to golive.

My participation's are the usally geek participation's, I have been on a train two years at 4:00 am with a crt monitor and a computer box in my way to Minho Campus Party (2002-2003).
I normally go to Barcamps since my first in Coimbra (2007) and I also enjoy the Take Off event.
I participate in the seminar entitled GNU GPLv3, held on May 24 2007 in Lisbon organized by you Sapo
(I even have a picture with the guy: pedrocavaco.adamastor.org/2007/05/24/pc-gnu-cromo/ Bazinga!).
I also participated in the FIST - First Improvised Security Testing Conference, in Lisbon.
