Functional! Parallel! Processes! Distributed! Fault tolerant! OMG!

Can a language be friendly to newbies and powerful at the same time?
Will all the Ruby folks switch to Elixir?
Is there a Rails for Elixir, yet (and does it need be)?
Do I need to know Erlang to learn Elixir?

An intro to Elixir and why it could be The Next Big (Hip) Language.

Yeah and then there is Dynamo (https://github.com/dynamo/dynamo) as well ... and few others (mostly in alpha).
Will try to draw a picture of the current state of all the things available to you if you want to start experimenting with Elixir :)

I've played a little bit with Elixir, and I think the concepts behind it are amazing. Also you have dynamo (the mvc framework) to start building your website if you want to.
Also it's built on top of Erlang, so there is plenty of room for learning.
