Abstract

Did you know you can parse binary files in JavaScript? Did you know that your browser can make music (and I don't mean by playing back sound files)?

The Web Platform is currently evolving into a full fledged application platform at an ever increasing speed and as most of us are web developers of sorts, it's good to know what's actually possible, but also increasingly hard to keep track of. Let me show you a few awesome things that we can use now or will be able to do so in the near future. And hopefully blow your mind.

Probably useless for most of the "traditional" web that is out there, but great intermission-type talk. And most definitely totally different than the proposed list. Big yay and I am really curious. +1

"increasingly hard to keep track of", for the best reasons! I hope this talk gets approved, the topic is interesting, although it would be nice to have a list of specific features you're gonna talk about. :)

+ Jan Krutisch, are y going to focus on a specific browser, or give an overview of the most used ?

Can you detail the abstract a little more... you say 10 but I only see two... Still seems a very good talk!

+ Paulo J Morgado, I'll mostly focus on cross browser, standardized (or in progress) features, although sometimes MSIE makes that really hard. My talk also sums up browser compatibility for each feature.

+Ricardo Seco, sorry, that's kind of the point. I don't want to ruin the surprise too much. Also, since these things shuffle around a lot, the list is not actually fixed. For example, I had CSS Regions in there, but it seems as if this spec is at least heavily delayed by the decision of the Blink team to throw out Adobe's code, so I now have to replace that with something :)

Thanks for all your nice comments, by the way. I'm super stoked to be able to be part of codebits.eu again!
