Abstract

In this talk you'll learn how I have built and scaled apps and services that are used by millions of people.

Here's a short list of my successful services:

Spell checker:
When I was 22 I built, scaled and sold Orangoo Spell, an Ajax based spell checker that could spell check 28 languages . Orangoo Spell has been used over 1billion times to spell check text for millions of users.

Todoist:
In 2007 I started Todoist, a powerful online based todo list. Today Todoist has more than 1.2million users and has helped people complete millions of tasks and projects. Right now Todoist has an awesome team of 15 working on it, including me.

Micro blogging:
From age 23 to 26 I co-founded and lead development of Plurk.com, a micro blogging network that is big in Asia-Pacific, especially Taiwan. Plurk has today over 10million users, 8 billion+ unique messages and a million+ dollar funding.

How and why did I start and grow these? And what did I learn in the process? In this talk I want to share my secrets with you. I think many hackers have the potential to create amazing services, you just need to unlock this ability.

This sounds interesting, may it be for the fact that a lot of people use it, or for the fact that the services are successfully simple on their own. Something I'd attend, no doubt.

I like backend design and development, so I think this is a talk I would attend. Nice to see entrepreneurs who know their technical stuff and not just marketing mumbo-jumbo.

Amir is one of the few CEOs I've had the pleasure to meet who actually gets his hands dirty, technically speaking, on a daily basis. He knows his stuff :-) Wouldn't miss it for the world. +1

Thanks for the good feedback guys! If this gets selected I'll do my best to provide you with insightful knowledge on building and scaling things (both from the product aspect, but also from a technical standpoint).

Can't wait to be impressed and learn from an apparently talented C*O that seems to care about the tech-side if the product. Never tried nor heard of any of these techs, so it will be a delight to get fresh, uncorrupted ideas on that. +1 Mr + Amir Salihefendic Salihefendic!
