Abstract

Data prove that within only 50 milliseconds we are able to decide either to leave or continue in a webpage (just think of how we behave when searching in a search engine).

How to design for credibility, as stated by B.J. Fogg? What makes a user leave a page? These are some of the questions we hope to get an answer to.

We will present some examples and briefly present the results of a questionnaire done in context of our master dissertation (with 106 user answers and 26 design specialists). A warning: this won't be an academic presentation! :)

Design, uma área erroneamente desprezada por mtos. Boa sorte, parece interessante.

User experience is as important as the implementation itself, but is forgotten sometimes. It's definitely a must see.

Will this talk have any technical suggestions (discussing techniques like mobile-first, graceful degradation) and it's implementations, or will it be a purely educational and "philosophical" talk (as in all talk, but no code, ways to speed stuff up)?

Hope this gets selected. And - above all - hope this brings some fresh approach to the topic. Good luck!

Would love to hear more about your results! I suspect that increasingly credibility won't just mean 'well designed' as people become wiser and more critical online. Hope your talk gets selected!

+ David Serrano, I will discuss some pratical stuff, like the features users like or hate the most, which you can apply directly in your work. Speed and method aren't exactly key here, the point is to have a general view of what makes a website credible or not, im particular from a design point of view (which is the first to be perceived).

I am really interested on this.
User experience should be one of the biggest investments on a web based company, and it's so many times totally forgotten.
